Anaheim Attractions and Landmarks

For most people, the mention of Anaheim incites a visual of fireworks, ferris wheels, and Mickey Mouse. But outside of Disneyland Anaheim has a lot of interesting attractions and historical landmarks. We’re going through a list of our favorite Anaheim attractions and landmarks below.

Anaheim GardenWalk

Home to some of Anaheim’s best dining, nightlife, shopping, and family fun – you’ll find a little something for everyone at the Anaheim GardenWalk. Located in the Anaheim Resort District, the GardenWalk is just steps from the Disneyland Resort and the Anaheim Convention Center. Test your wits at the Mission Escape Games’ epic escape room, or challenge a friend to a game of bowling at Bowlmor Lanes!

The Grove of Anaheim

Catch a concert at the City National Grove of Anaheim! This intimate indoor concert venue has hosted big names like B.B. King, Bob Dylan, Jamie Foxx, Seal, and George Lopez. Located less than two miles from the Disneyland Resort and the Anaheim Convention Center this is another excellent option for those of you visiting Anaheim. Check their website for upcoming events and availability.

Downtown Disney

Situated just between Disneyland Resort and Disney California Adventure the Downtown Disney shopping center is located in the heart of the house of the mouse. You’ll find several shops and restaurants and even a bowling alley as you walk along the outdoor Disney themed mall. Just added was The VOID: Step Beyond Reality, a virtual reality attraction that allows users to go on virtual adventures into Disney favorites like Star Wars and Wreck-It Ralph. At the East end of Downtown Disney, you’ll run into the entrance to both parks which many find to be a perfect spot to view the famous firework show. Overall, this is an excellent option for a Disney fix that’s a little easier on the pocketbook than visiting the park itself.

Oak Canyon Nature Center

A beautiful break from the city the Oak Canyon Nature Center is a 58-acre park in Anaheim Hills. Spend the day outside among over 4 miles of hiking trails, a natural stream, and a museum with live animal and history exhibits.

Founders’ Park

Take a step back in time with a visit to Founders’ Park in Anaheim. Two historic homes built in the 1800s sit in the park and have been school field trip destinations for over 50 years. Experience the history that created the foundation of Anaheim – crops of grapes, walnuts, peppers, lima beans, potatoes, and strawberries.

Anaheim Packing House

Originally built as a citrus packing house in 1919, the Anaheim Packing House is another historic landmark you’ve just got to check out. Today it serves as home to a gourmet food hall that sits in the Anaheim Packing District. We highlighted the location in our Top Things to do in Anaheim blog as well because we can’t get enough! Also, the National Register of Historic Places listed the Packing House as a historic place. Have you visited any of the places we mentioned? What were your thoughts? Let us know below!
